A new study conducted recently shows that vigorous exercise in women may damage the perceiving, remembering and thinking skills in their later life.
It is found that much exercise seems to raise the levels of oestrogen in a woman’s body and it leads to irregular menstrual cycles – reports New Scientist.
Mary Tierney of Toronto university, Canada carried out the study among 90 healthy post-menopausal women and who narrated their habit of life long exercises and they have been undergone cognitive tests.
The above study revealed that women who had the habit of regular vigorous exercises caused the inability in cognitive skills.
Tierney admitted that regular simple exercises are beneficial for good health, but the strenuous exercises in women caused the negative impact and this study should be investigated further for better understanding.
