Superbug NDM-1 will not kill antibiotic
Swine flu had the value of super star in the media for the last one year and slightly its fame was reduced in the last few months. But there came a superior star named Superbug NDM-1 named after the Indian capital (New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase). It is alleged that the new gene NDM 1 was found in the gut bacteria of patients who went treatment in India. The name NDM 1 has become popular as soon as the British Journal Lancet started writing about this gene.
The publication of Lancet immediately roused the panic about the usage of antibiotic and world news agencies began to publish their articles about the end of the anti-biotic era.
Alexander flemming discovered the wonder anti-biotic penicillin which saved the life of the human beings. This happened before 80 years and subsequently in the last sixty years so many super wonder drugs were discovered to treat any type of infectious diseases.
This gene NDM 1 is not a new resistance formation to anti-biotic but this has been reported even in the year 1994 during the annual meeting of the association of advancement of science in San Francisco that concluded in February 1994.
This was already quoted by the microbiologist Alexander Tomasz of Rockefeller University in the conference “many common bacteria are evolving resistance to more and more antibiotics”. He also stated in the conference that about 19, 000 patients died in U.S due to resistance to antibiotics.
Following the conference, the U.K and U.S had deaths due to resistant inducing bacteria and even in the year 2006, Thomas Hausler wrote in his book about Viruses and Superbugs. This book was published in German in the year 2006. Even after sixteen years, the antibiotics continue to thrive even though there were several incidents of resistant bacteria to antibiotic.
Hence, the superbug NDM1 will not be an anti biotic killer and it is not wise to blame any city or country for the same. A new era will come and discover a new anti biotic that will become the super star of the world in killing the resistance inducing bacteria.

ignorance is bliss!
do you think this superbug will really take the same spotlight as the swineflu did? if so it must be pretty deadly
