This is a kind of news the world selected communities were waiting for
as the controversy on Yoga practice deepen more. It is unfortunate on several grounds. Dr Rajgopal has expressed his personal opinion which is of no scietific value in the first place. What has prompted Rajgopal to come to air his views in the public media is highly unethical in the first place. This amounts to self propaganda to advertise himself publicly on baseless grounds of a ‘opinion’ that has no more value than a propaganda. He is playing himself a pawn for misleading the common man.

To put the point home, Vajrasan is a definite “Asana” practiced but it has its own role in a set situation with set rules. There are people practice these yoga exercises on half knowledge or after self styled yoga gurus who are themselves unaware and that result in the damage. Dr. Rajgopal should have recourced to a definite and comparative scientific study conducted under a well formed group of organisation before highlighting in the media and cause more damage to a well established entire system without he being himself aware of.

    God bless

    2. This is one of the popular posture for Japanese, as their, “Tea Ceremony” posture. Are they worldwide (ALL OF THEM) are your knee replacement clients.

    3. The Jain sadhaka are also used to sit in this posture for a long time in hours, while they are in prayers, Are they world wide (ALL OF THEM) are your knee replacement clients.

a general benefit, while sitting in this posture is to straightens of the spine, good after, any meals for digestion, strengthening and toniifications of lower back with abdominal organs.

Please in future, before you comment any issue, do take care to put focus on global level, rather than speaking on your few personal cases . Though, this view may be undoubted, but I think the point of yoga guru is to be stressed here. Yoga gurus tend to overdo it in some way as they tend to have several batches of students. So obviously that brings in a lot of wear and tear. This may not be applicable to general population, who have other things to do apart from yoga.
Getting into a fit of yoga and starting directly with difficult asanas like vajrasan can definitely cause tearing of ligaments.
