New Delhi : The recent research reveals that fruits and vegetables contain toxic chemicals.

Union Health Secretary, Minister of State for Health, Dinesh Trived requested and advised the public to take preventive measures. He also added that these toxic substances may cause nervous disorders and sterility.

Toxic substances are found in vegetables and fruits due to the usage of hormone shots to plants for rapid growth by the farmers. These hormones in turn cause irreparable damage to health. Trivedi said these farmers using hormone shots would be taken action.

Now minister warned about the usage of oxytocin and copper sulphate (for coloring the fruits) in plants for faster growth. Oxytocin is a hormone used in medicine with limitations such as for inducing labor and control bleeding after delivery. This drug is coming under schedule H drug and prohibited for using on animals.

The minister told that the adverse effects of these two toxins are being investigated and these two hazardous chemicals use needs to be urgently monitered and looked into immediately.
