Bhubaneswar : out of ten samples sent from different hospitals four were detected positive for swine flu. The tragedy happened in a family and two died one after another. Mr. Harihara Sethi, assistant commercial tax officer died of swine flu and his daughter also succumbed to this swine flu later in a private hospital here.

In an incident, Bargarh, wife of BJD president died at VSS medical college hospital in Burla. Another death occurred to one Manini Manaswini, who was admitted to Apollo hospital here on August 6 and died after she was confirmed for swine flu infection. She had complications along with the disease and died after the midnight.

About seven persons have died of the swine flu since July. So far 42 samples tested in July and 17 have been confirmed positive. There is panic in the state and even doctors are afraid of this situation for safety. There were also complaints of shortage of masks and gloves in the hospital.

State health minister Prasanna Acharya cancelled his trip to bargarh and explained that he was much needed in Bhubaneswar. He added that he had given instructions to the health officials to have close watch about the situation.
