German court shows leniency towards Pop Singer Nadja Benaissa and given suspended sentence for having infected with HIV virus
The German court convicted the 28 year old pop singer Nadja Benaissa for grievous bodily harm by knowingly exposing HIV virus to two men.
The pop singer was given with two year suspended sentence though she could have been given with 10 years imprisonment. Prosecutors preferred this lenient sentence because Benaissa had confessed and regretted her act of knowingly exposed the virus to two men.
The trial conducted at Darmstadt court in western Germany and in the court Benaissa accepted her mistake and told that she had hidden the facts about her HIV positive knowingly because her carrier in public would be spoiled.
She admitted that she was a coward by doing so and expressed her sorry from her inner heart. She assured the court not to do such mistakes in the future and hence the suspended sentence.
She exposed the HIV virus to one 34 year man and he contracted the virus and another one was found negative for the virus and this happened by unprotected sex she had in the year between 2000 and 2004.
Benaissa was already arrested during April last year for the above her deed and taken to custody for ten days by court order.
