The head of the National Institute of Health (NIH) told that the new research work would be stopped immediately and however some of the works in the hand would be continued for some time. This was the consequence of the ruling by a district court at U.S. which also banned Obama’s order of 2009 to expand fund for embryonic stem cell research.

The district court Judge Royce Lamberth ruled and blocked the Obama’s order regarding embryonic stem cell research and the judge indicated in his ruling that it is conflicting with a ban on using federal money to destroy embryos.

Agency director Francis Collins told that he was stunned as it stunned everyone. He remarked that this court’s ruling poured sand in to the engine of discovery.

Collins further explained that the new researches that were going on would be stopped and it will affect the new discovery in saving life from diseases like spinal cord injury and diabetes. He further told that the valuable scientists at U.S doing their research by federal funding would go to other countries for continuing their research on stem cell.

The stem cell researchers are being totally discouraged, shocked and stunned. It appears that the U.S. Justice Department would go for an appeal shortly against the ruling of the district judge.
