3 New York City residents found positive for West Nile virus
Health officials confirm three cases of West Nile virus in residents of New York City.
The health authorities say that one 61 year old man residing in New York found positive for this virus and he was hospitalized who had meningitis also. Another two cases are women residing at Staten Island women, one aged 74 and another aged 46 and found positive to this West Nile virus. Both were treated at hospital.
A woman of Long Island aged 66 contracted this virus last month and it is stated that she was the first woman found positive this year for this virus. She was treated and recovering well. She fell ill on July 5. West Nile virus is spread and transported from mosquitoes and it contracts the virus from birds.
The symptoms of the affected person shows, disorientation, neck stiffness, coma and paralysis.
