Health director-General Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Ismail Merican told that the cases of swine flu is increasing by 25 per cent in the week ended from 8th to 14th of this month. He declared that the cases from 51 increased to 64 in the said week. This information was reported in the Malaysian news service, Bernama.

FDA declares the second potential source of contaminated shell eggs with salmonella

Food and Drug Administration informed that recalling of suspected contaminated eggs with salmonella carried out by another Hillandale Farms of Iowa Inc., It voluntarily recalled the shell eggs. FDA told that this is the second largest recall during this salmonella outbreak.
FDA added that it is carrying out its investigations nation wide for Salmonella Enteritidis and informed that Hillandale Farms in Iowa is the second potential source of contaminated shell eggs.
It is already declared by FDA that the first potential source of contaminated shell eggs with salmonella is Wright County Egg. …

Superbug NDM 1 reaches Brampton and first case identified

First case of the reputed deadly superbug NDM 1 was identified and it is the Ontario’s first of case of the deadly superbug. This has been identified at the William Osler Health Centre in Brampton.
The William Osler Health Centre released its first positive case details recently and said one patient was recently tested positive for the bacteria that contains the enzyme NDM 1.

Salmonella outbreak by shell eggs may cause life threatening complications

The salmonella outbreak caused the recall of eggs which was preventable-says federal officials. CDC said that hundreds of Americans have become affected in the recent months. The acting director of CDC told that they are not certain to state the exact number of persons affected to salmonella infection so far. Superbug NDM-1 will not kill antibiotic

Swine flu had the value of super star in the media for the last one year and slightly its fame was reduced in the last few months. 1.2 lakh people screened in the last two days following a hike of swine flu symptoms in Rajasthan.

The state screened about 61,524 people on Thursday for swine flu symptoms and recorded eight new cases of swine flu. The state had forty swine flu symptoms and out of which four were isolated and the rest of them were given precautionary treatment.
The new 8 confirmed cases came from different parts of the state, three belongs to Jaipur, one from Jodhpur and two from Udaipur and Kota each, said the director of health department.

Though the death toll raises to 270 in Maharashtra, Mumbai seems to be under control for swine flu.

Though the state Maharashtra lost 270 lives since April 2010 due to swine flu, about only 35 persons were lost by Mumbai. UK already warned experts about the danger of NDM 1 that this NDM 1 may reproduce new superbugs by replication and now it warned the possibility of having new infections in numerous patients with the superbug.
