Earlier, it was told by his family that he was only having a non-malignant type of tumour and two reports he received at India were not able to confirm it for a malignant type.

Yuvraj’s physiotherapist Jatin Chaudhary said on Sunday that Yuvraj has been confirmed for.having developed a malignant tumour in his lung by a Russian cancer expert and after having consultation with U.S. doctors, he is now undergoing chemotherapy at Boston.

He added that this type of tumour is a rare one and however said that it is 100% curable since it is diagnosed at the stage of grade I.

Chaudhary said that earlier Yuvraj was undergoing ayurvedic treatment and said that he is now forced to take the chemotherapy immediately since there is a danger that the tumour is located near his heart and may burst at any time if it grows well.

Craig Lewis aged 55 was dying from a heart condition due to abnormal production of bad protein which tends to deposit excessively in the human organs and tissues and in this condition doctors were not able to save his life and told that he would survive only for hours or a day.

Dr. Billy Cohn and Dr. Bud Frazier of Texas Heart Institute ventured to save his life by installing a ‘continuous flow’ device after removing his heart and they did so.
The installation of the continuous flow device started circulating blood to his whole body and Lewis was able to speak to his physicians on the second day of the installation of the device. This happened during the last March 11.

But, Lewis lost his pulse and there was only a continuous flow of blood from the body and the new device uses blades to propel and circulate blood throughout the body by replacing the heart.

Dr. Billy Cohn and Dr. Bud Frazier had developed the device and already installed and tested them nearly in 50 calves after removing the hearts from the animals.

Dr. Cohn said that Lewis is the first man to receive the device and added that a stethoscope will not hear any heart beat sound and an EKG will be read for flat-lined.

The device was put inside Mr. Lewis’s body after getting permission from his wife Linda.

Linda Lewis said, “’I listened and it was a hum, which was amazing. He didn’t have a pulse.”

Dr. Deepak Agarwal, neurosurgeon said that she was put off ventilator at 6 a.m. to-day and her parameters of blood are being checked carefully for the response she has now for antibiotics. Doctors said if she continues responding for the treatment, she has to undergo another life saving surgery in a coming few days.

He added that Falak is still in the stage of coma and developed septicemia from brain and she may undergo another surgery if she continues in stable condition.

Baby Falak already underwent brain surgery last week to arrest the excess fluid accumulation in the brain and doctors said that she had now stopped circulating of fluid in the brain.

Baby Falak was brought to AIIMS on January 18 with severe head injury, fractures and with human bite marks all over the body and a teen age girl admitted her claiming to be her mother and told that Falak had fell down from her bed and it was the reason for the child’s pathetic condition.

However, doctors found that the reasons expressed by the teen age girl did not match with types of injuries she had and called for police. The teen age girl has been questioned leading to the arrest of four people. But the police are yet to find the main accused, Rajkumar, who the girl now allegedly says gave her the baby. They have also not been able to trace Falak’s biological mother yet.

NDRI has commercialized the technology through the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC).

The researchers have said that they have removed the cholesterol up to 80 to 85 percent without affecting the quality parameters specified under the prevention of food adulteration rules (PFA).

The natural form of ghee is having 300mg of cholesterol in 100 gm of it and this new technique is able to remove considerable cholesterol by treating the cow or buffalo cream with an additive called beta-cyclodextrin before making the ghee.

NDRI said that their analysis of this low cholesterol ghee resembles in all respects with physical and chemical properties of natural ghee with a slight loss of vitamin D while carotene, vitamin A and E varied only in a negligible amount.

Dr. Umesh Kapil of AIIMS said that this new innovation is good and it is only useful for those who eat ghee in larger quantities. But, added that people should not however be encouraged to take them in large quantities and explained that human cholesterol level is not only based on dietary intake but it involves and depends on various factors of the human body.

Dr. Prabhakaran, director, Centre for Chronic Disease Control said that this new innovation to be appreciated but, it could not be called as either heart friendly or healthy product unless it shows evidence to lower blood cholesterol levels.

Scientists have said that sugar is found to be responsible for illness including obesity, cancer, heart disease and liver diseases and warned that its sale should be regulated as cigarettes and alcohol.

Scientists advise that the usage of sugar should be brought to control through taxation and legislation since they claim that sugar causes 35 million deaths per year through out the world.

Scientists wrote in the journal Nature that sugar is not a problem when it is taken in small amounts but when it is taken in lot, it kills us slowly and they have titled their article as ‘Toxic truth about sugar.’

The authors led by Robert Lustig, a childhood obesity expert at California University said that sugar is toxic as of alcohol and it is harmful enough for the society. The study authors warn that sugar not only damages human metabolism, but also raises the blood pressure, hormonal imbalance and it completely damages liver and they point out the same ill effects are seen in taking too much alcohol which is prepared from sugar.

The authors said that taxation and restricting availability of sugar could stop this danger and teaching children about diet and exercise without restriction of availability of sugar will not be fruitful, but they said that they are not advocating for a prohibition.

Authors pointed out that obesity caused by overload of sugar is the major challenge now than the malnourished ones across the world.

They said that the responsibility are in the hands of the food companies and they may resist their findings against sugar and however they may be forced to change their policy as in the case of cigarettes where restriction is being laid like ban on smoking in public places.

The authors concludes that simple measures are taken for granted as tools for our public health and well-being and it is the time for us to turn out attention to sugar.

However, he has taken back his words of threatening against doctors when severe criticism forced him to take back his words.

While answering questions to a television, he told that he would fulfill whatever the demands they have and he would seek forgiveness with folded hands if he was unable to fulfill it and nobody could stop hospitals from running and reportedly said (toh hum haath kaatna bhi jaante hain) that he would even chop off the hands of the doctors who will try to obstruct public welfare.

Later, he clarified his statement and added that he literally used a phrase that meant the doctors who were found wanting would be stripped off their degrees.

But, the opposition parties of Bihar and Indian Medical Association (IMA) strongly has condemned his utterances and demanded for an apology.

Dr. Ajay Kumar of IMA said, “The demands of the Junior Doctors are only related with their increase of stipend and it is not illegal and not illogical and minister should have chosen his words carefully and he must apologize for what he said.”

It said that health conditions like high blood pressure and cholesterol levels of children could able to predict the chances of having diabetes and heart diseases of their parents in future.

The study involved about 519 families at Ohio and the study results were published in the journal “Journal of Peadiatrics.”

The study was conducted on children of 12 year old including their weight, height, blood pressure and cholesterol level. The status of their findings was able to predict the chances that one of their parents would develop high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease during the next 30 years.

The study remarked that most of the parents are not undergoing regular medical check-ups but, they involve their children and bring them often to GPs for medical check-ups.

The study also revealed that one of the parents are at the twice the chance of suffering from early heart disease or stroke if their child had high blood pressure at the age of 12 and it also revealed that if the child of 12 were having over weight, their parents were at the risk of having diabetes and high blood pressure were seen doubled.
