Malayalam actress Bhavana abducted, molested; Driver arrested

The entire Malayalam film industry was in for a shock when it was reported that popular actress Bhavana was kidnapped and assaulted in her own auto by her former driver and his friends.

The men forcefully entered her vehicle and directed her driver to proceed to Kochi after threatening him, she said.

The 30-year-old actor, who was returning to Kochi after a shoot in Thrissur, said in her complaint that she was abducted by the seven-member gang and assaulted for almost two hours in her vehicle.

"We know who are behind this, and we will very quickly arrest all of them and get to the bottom of the truth", said Behra. As per the actress, Bhavana complaint police arrested the driver, Martin.

The tormentors of the young actress physically attacked her inside the vehicle and outraged her modesty.

The men, suspected to be five in number, forcefully entered her auto and took control of it before proceeding to Kochi.

After getting off at Palarivattom, the gang escaped in another vehicle. The incident took place on Saturday when the actress was returning home from a shoot in Ernakulam district in Kerala. The actress later spoke to the police and gave a statement about the incident. Bhavana was harassed for almost two hours inside the vehicle, the police said. It was revealed that the seven-member gang had conspired a month ago to blackmail and extort money from her.

Sources said that the person who masterminded the attack was Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni, native of Perumbavoor near Kochi who was also a former driver of the actress. He is believed to be the main culprit.

A noted Malayalam actress was kidnapped and sexually molested on Friday night.

Malayalam film industry is shocked at the brutal incident of molestation that happened with actress Bhavana. More details about the issue are yet to be known.

Kerala DGP Loknath Behera has constituted a special investigation team to probe the case, following widespread condemnation of the incident.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said,"All of them have been identified".

Actor Dileep and director Kamal also highlighted the bigger picture and called for better security for women in the state.

According to police, her former and current drivers planned the incident. Later they arrested him for being hand in glove with the assailants.
