After Trump had tweeted an inaccurate statement about an interview that the cable news network had just concluded, CNN responded to the President's false statement by playing the tape and tearing into the President for calling the network fake news.

Cuomo made the comments in response to President Donald Trump suggesting, again, that CNN was "fake news".

"There's no question that Judge [Neil] Gorsuch said to me that he found these attacks on the judiciary by the president to be disheartening-" Blumenthal responded before the clip was cut off.

"Chris Cuomo, in his interview with Sen". Richard Blumenthal (D) about his credibility issues regarding his purported service in Vietnam.

The president has repeatedly said he doesn't watch CNN, but his tweet came shortly after the Blumenthal interview aired Thursday morning.

"Once again, the president is off on the facts", he continued. "That's not something that any of us have any desire to say on a regular basis, but it keeps being true".

"It's like an ethnic disparagement", Cuomo said. We all have these ugly words for people.

Trump reacted on Twitter after the interview, claiming Cuomo never mentioned Blumenthal's past controversy during his 2010 Senate campaign when he falsely said he had served in Vietnam.

Blumenthal's 2010 campaign for U.S. Senate was almost derailed after it came to light that he was lying when he said that he's served in the Vietnam War.

Gorsuch's team later confirmed the comments.
