Oddly, Roethlisberger has never faced the Patriots in a postseason game at New England.

An NFL spokesman has commented regarding NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision to attend the NFC Championship Game in Atlanta instead of the AFC Championship Game in Foxboro this Sunday. "But you ain't got to tell them we're coming", said the Steelers coach according to CBS Sports. But of course, preparation is only half the battle - they still need to execute well, something they did not do much of on Saturday. The Steelers lead 15-14 in the regular season, the Patriots 3-1 in playoff games.

But the Steelers' quarterback made sure he crossed paths with Tom Brady as the two shared a moment on the field before the October 23 game. Brady finished with a strong 124.2 passer rating.

Their defense has been a huge reason for this success. They practice every week to win and that consistency is what pushes them through the weeks leading to the big games. GoLocal breaks down the last ten times the two AFC rivals meet.

Five field goals were kicked in New England's win over Houston. When you go into a game like this, I'm sure they've been coached up on it and have repped for it, and I'm sure they'll be ready for it.

"We can't do the same thing they did".

The Steelers agree, though, that they can't play passively on defense against Brady by rushing three defenders while dropping eight into coverage.

Roethlisberger similarly called Brady, "the best of all time".

It's been a few years since we have seen Roethlisberger at his best.

Sunday's AFC Championship game will feature the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the New England Patriots with a Super Bowl berth at stake.

They understand the significance of their streak. The increased pressure contributed to 10 interceptions.

Steelers and Patriots in the red-zone: Matt Chatham gives a breakdown of how the Steelers' offensives woes in the red-zone, and how that may be an advantage of the Patriots defense. Yet, he said, "At the end of the day we still have to put on our helmet and shoulder pads, and go out and execute a game plan. Our job is to show up and try to do a great job when we get the chance, and that's the way it's been all year for us".

"He's very sharp", Butler said. He studies a lot of film. During the 2005 Super Bowl run, he put the league on notice with a near ideal passer rating (148.7) against the Cincinnati Bengals, throwing three touchdowns to three receivers, but also has the lowest passer rating ever by a winning quarterback in a Super Bowl (22.6).

Tom Brady vs Ben Roethlisberger for the first time since 2004: Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger have avoided playing each other in the playoffs several times since 2004.

While Hightower took something of a high road, his teammate, receiver Julian Edelman, took a bit of a swipe at the Steelers when he was interviewed on WEEI about Brown's broadcasting.

This past weekend's playoff games separated the contenders from the pretenders.
