Two men molested a young girl on New Year Eve

In yet another shocking incident of women being attacked, a woman walking on the road was molested in the early hours on New Year's Day.

Reportedly a number of women were molested on the New Year's Eve in Bengaluru. One runs towards the house, while the other, who is paying the auto fare, gets waylaid by two men on a scooter. "The way in which the molester rides the bike, and then follows her before taking a U-turn and stopping the two-wheeler, shows that the accused had followed her from some distance at least", police said.

According to police, the incident took place near Kullappa circle on 5th main road near Kammanahalli around 2.30 am on January 1.

Eyewitness accounts had suggested that women were molested and groped and lewd remarks were also passed by miscreants late night on December 31 in the posh area even as it was claimed that 1,500 police personnel had been deployed to control the crowds. She resisted him but his grip was strong. She was separated from her friends and asked me to help her look for them.

The incident was reported by the residents of the area and the CCTV footage was brought to the notice of the media houses and was informed to the police.

The girl talking the molestation happened, said that she had plans to enjoy for the New Year while this incident has totally shaken her.

The second girl may have walked barely few meters when she is attacked by two men. Thereafter they throw her on the road and flee the spot.

Commenting on the Church Street incident, Parameshwara blamed it on the western mindset of youth, saying, "These things do happen [at crowded places]". When the owner, Francis, went through the video grab, he realised the gravity of the situation and urged the women to file a complaint.

The CCTV footage, found during the victim's desperate search for evidence, is helping the police track the sequence of events. We take precautionary measures.
