Jackie jumped in her vehicle, made the three-minute drive to her childhood home and found Brandy leaning against her bedroom wall with a gun to her chest.

Then came an appalling twist: as the family struggles with the aftermath of a suicide, the online bullying of Brandy has continued.

Still grieving their loss, Vela's family claims bogus Facebook accounts continue to pop up online, the New York Post reported.

'I know what she was going through now. It's not that easy just to shut it off and let it go'.

Jackie and her family say bullying is indeed to blame, though they always thought Brandy "brushed it off and didn't care".

Raul said his family would pursue justice no matter how long it took. "And I will for years".

The distasteful pages were blocked after the family complained to Facebook.

"People would make up fake Facebook accounts and they would message her and she wouldn't respond and they would still come at her".

She also changed her number after receiving harassing calls, but the bullying did not stop.

Fake profiles showing Brandy Vela's face superimposed onto a pig and Photoshopped alongside guns have been shared with the Texas City Police Department.

Her father remains determined to find the bullies who tormented his daughter.

Her sister Jacqueline, 22, said: "They would put her picture and lie about her age and say she is giving herself up for sex for free". Her older sister, Jacqueline, was home and it was the sobbing of her younger sister that made her rush to the room.

"I love you so much, please remember that, and I'm sorry for everything."

She pleaded with her not to shoot before running to get her parents for help.

"I was in my parents' room and I just heard the shot and my dad just yelled, 'Help me, help me, help me, "Jacqueline recalled through tears". According to her father, her phone was always ringing non-stop. I hope this makes you happy", he said. This is beyond horrificĀ and shows the extent of the bullying Brandy endured.

"Our deputy investigated it and the app that was being used to send the messages was untraceable".
