Danville store sells $5 million Mega Millions ticket

The winning numbers from the Mega Millions draw on Tuesday December 13th were 2, 15, 26, 34, 41 and the bonus ball was 14. The ticket matched the first five numbers and missed only the Mega Ball number, a lottery spokesperson.

In October, a Memphis man won half a million dollars on a scratch off ticket. Patrick Johnson, victor and promotion specialist with the Oregon Lottery said in a news release. Tickets cost $1 each.

The Virginia Lottery advises that before doing anything else, the victor should immediately sign the back of the ticket to establish ownership. In fiscal year 2015, more than $5.9 million in unclaimed prizes were transferred to the fund. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1 in 30,821,472.

While there was no grand-prize victor, two players matched all five white balls drawn to win $1 million. He was Oregon's fourth Mega Millions victor since the game was offered in OR in 2011. When the person is ready to claim the prize, he or she should contact the Virginia Lottery. A winning $100,000 Powerball ticket was sold in Hillsboro on October 12 and another $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold on October 29 in Hubbard. That was the largest prize won in the state. However, where that ticket was sold was not immediately available.
