LeBron James Explains Why He Won't Stay in Donald Trump's Hotels

THE titleholders Cleveland Cavaliers have started a new winning streak, downing a New York Knicks squad missing Derrick Rose, 126-94, on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden (Thursday, Manila time). A team source told ESPN.com that the alternative hotel - which about half of the Cavs' roster was excused to stay at should they choose to - was located close enough to the Trump SoHo that both factions of Cleveland's traveling party were able to meet and take the same bus over to the shootaround.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 12 points and Carmelo Anthony managed just eight points, the first time this season he failed to reach double figures. "We've got to continue to protect each other and continue to just be as great as we can be".

Anyway, here's the super slo mo of James and his failed attempt to land a water bottle on its bottom. The Cavs led by as many as 17 in the first quarter and 34 for the game.

Now, this would be one thing if James didn't dunk very often.

"It's just my personal preference", James said.

"'Bron wanted to give it to Phil Jackson so bad".

"The word itself carries connotation", he said. "And I just don't understand that part of it, the word", Jackson said. I think it still goes on and is still a part of the culture in the National Basketball Association.

That's probably for the best, since James already said he has no intention of speaking with Jackson while the Cavaliers are in town to play the Knicks on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, three NBA teams ― the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks ― announced they would stop staying at Trump-branded hotels "to avoid any implied association" with the president-elect. Asked if he had seen Jackson's comments to CBS Sports, James said he had not and he wasn't discussing it again.
