Chip and Joanna's show is now in its fourth season and is one of HGTV's most popular offerings. The Gaines have been outspoken about their Christian faith, but have not publicly expressed their opinions about gay marriage.

Ambrosino wrote that although some of his friends and family have declined to attend his upcoming same-sex wedding, he still does not think people should be shamed for their religious convictions.

Chip Gaines' overture did not go unnoticed, with The Daily Caller's Jim Treacher noting that this is how one "puts Christian beliefs into practice".

Would a gay couple ever be featured on Fixer Upper? "They should just answer the question". Many sides were taken.

HGTV has also responded to the story, issuing a comment that said: "We don't discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows. HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series", But throughout all this controversy, Chip and Joanna have chosen not to chime in with their personal thoughts.

Aside from their reality show, Chip and Joanna are the founders of Magnolia Homes, Magnolia Market, and Magnolia Realty in Waco, they have their own home collections as well as collaborations with bigger retailers.

Some, however, have interpreted a couple Chip Tweets as confirmation that he agrees with his pastor's stances in relation to the gay lifestyle. While he didn't address the BuzzFeed article specifically, he tweeted out a series of messages that referenced "all hell appearing to break loose" and that ended with the straightforward declaration "Do everything in love".

"Regardless of our decision to make a statement about all this craziness or not, I ask that people please respect @KateAurthur & @ginamei!".

That's a very nice and reasonable sentiment. On Sunday morning, he let the public know that they still went to church, Chron reports.

He then wrote one day later: 'In times of trouble. you'll find the gaines family at church'.

"God defined marriage, not you and I. God defined masculine and feminine, male and female, not you and I. Truth No. 1: Homosexuality is a sin". The lie - Homosexuality is not a sin'.

Meanwhile, Pastor Seibert told Tony Perkins, of the Family Research Council, that the story has actually been a blessing in disguise, as it has caused a surge in hits to his church website, exposing thousands to the Gospel.

Apparently, there is an alley next to Magnolia Market that does not belong to the Fixer Upper stars.

I forgive Buzzfeed as all Committed Christians, including Chip and Joanna, will.
