She said at a reception after the play she didn't know Henderson well, but she and her husband run a theater company at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, and she understood Yates' predicament.

Post- "The Brady Bunch", Henderson alternated her appearances in revivals of the show with guest appearances on other programs.

Three days before her death, she attended the Dancing with the Stars in support of her former on-screen daughter Maureen McCormick. I really enjoy both Shelly Long/Gary Cole movies, but I can also step back and ponder: What point did they think they were making? Death, racism, obesity and professional difficulties may mark the lives of the Pearsons, but episode after episode, the ideal state is one of increased togetherness and the storylines in the '70s and '80s consistently remind us that even flawed parents can teach lessons or introduce traditions that have applications decades later. For viewers who came of age during "The Brady Bunch" years, it was Florence Henderson who more than earned the honor. She was the face of Wesson vegetable oil and hosted multiple cooking shows; she also starred in the video for Weird Al Yankovic's "Amish Paradise" and played versions of Carol on "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" and countless commercials.

After the cancellation of the original series in 1974, Henderson appeared on later incarnations of the show, including "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour", "The Brady Brides", "A Very Brady Christmas" and "The Bradys". Posted McCormick this week on Twitter.

"Throughout my life, she has been a huge supporter in my hard times", Maureen said. I'll miss u dearly #RIPFlorence - Maureen McCormick (@MoMcCormick7) November 25, 2016 Susan Olsen, who played youngest daughter Cindy on The Brady Bunch also thought of Florence as a second mom, but gave her condolences to Henderson's children. Florence Henderson was a dear friend for so very many years & in my 3 forever. "We didn't have television", Henderson said. She always just believed in me and gave me hope and strength. And we hear you, Florence, and I am changed because of you. Partnered with Corky Ballas, she came in eighth. If you fight, you make up.

"I'll never ever get rid of [those texts]", she says.

"I'm reading the outpouring of love for her", McCormick said Friday. Olsen said that when she was consoling her son when his last grandparent passed away he said, "I've still got Grandama Flo!" "I sure did, only it was worse for me as I grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts", she replies. Her most memorable routine was her fast-paced tango to The Brady Bunch's theme song. Just total disbelief. I had just been with her.

Henderson was a 19-year-old from IN attending drama school IN NY when she landed a one-line role IN the play "Wish You Were Here".

"I remember that she was very - she was very understanding on the show and very nice and like, just always wanted everything good for all the children, even the kids that weren't her own". I'm fortunate to have been able to know and to work with her. "She was also loving, warm, generous, and could tell a amusing, dirty joke". Florence was one of the most gracious people I have ever known, Proud to call her Mom and life long friend. You see, Florence's ability to release that part of her inner self that was glorious and handsome was so honest, it became who she was to millions of the disgraced and the marginalized.
