The Cowboys have the best record in the National Football League at 11-1 and are led by two talented rookies, Quarterback Dax Prescott, and running back Ezekiel Elliott. On that September 11 night at AT&T Stadium, their faces told a story of youth and hope, like memories on a Facebook page. Rookie sensations Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott made the playoffs with four games to spare in Dallas. A win will wrap up Dallas second NFC East title in three years, and the Cowboys can clinch a first-round bye with either a Detroit loss or tie or a Seattle loss. For now, the question is whether the Cowboys can keep their edge. Week 1 against the Giants, Elliott was held to a season low 51 rushing yards. "I watched the tape, and I shake my head sometimes at the things I did or the throws I didn't make because I wasn't trusting it", Prescott said of his first National Football League game.

"I think you develop as the season goes on", coach Ben McAdoo said. "But you've got to use it as a learning experience".

"He gets that confidence going and I have all the confidence in him", Prescott said.

It seems like an eternity ago that the Dallas Cowboys lost.

Most impressive has been the display of Prescott. "I'm just glad to be back out there running around again". "But I've definitely grown a ton since then, just being able to see the defenses faster, recognize what's going on, knowing and making confident decisions and letting the ball go".

Fellow rookie Dak Prescott also debuted as the replacement for the injured Tony Romo.

Prescott has thrown for 19 touchdowns with only two interceptions this season, and became the first rookie to throw for a least one touchdown and no interceptions in five consecutive games. He has run for five touchdowns. He now ranks in the Top 5 in yards per attempt (2nd, 8.31), quarterback rating (3rd, 108.6) and completion percentage (5th, 67.9). In the fourth quarter he completed just six of 17 passes but had the Cowboys on the brink of a comeback.

Bryant had one reception for eight yards in the opener, his first game back since a foot problem ruined his 2015 campaign. He had just seven carries in the preseason so he was not comfortable in the system. "He laid it to me straight and I gave him my thoughts as well", Cruz said.

"Rolando has got to work on his off-the-field situations before he can even begin to think about being a productive player on the field", executive vice president Stephen Jones said on his radio show Friday.

Prescott has not rushed for fewer than 83 yards in any of the 11 games since.

This week, the Giants' defense will get another hard challenge when it faces Elliott, the league's leading rusher at 4.9 yards per carry, and longtime Giants killer Jason Witten, who has caught 142 of 196 pass targets for 1,463 yards and 13 touchdowns in 27 games against the Giants. Both have 65. Irvin is the "Hall of Famer 88", who followed the "Original 88" in Drew Pearson, who had 48 touchdowns.

Fan voting goes a third of the way toward determining which players are selected for the Pro Bowl, with the other two thirds coming from coaches and the players themselves. "That's where everything starts for them".
