In acquiring Rudy Gay, they get a veteran player that could be a mentor to rookie and 2 picks overall in the 2016 NBA Draft Brandon Ingram. Luol Deng would help fill that mold perfectly, plus he is one of Thibodeau's former players when he coached the Chicago Bulls so they already have familiarity. FanSided explains that Los Angeles Lakers small forward Luol Deng would be the Timberwolves' target if a deal is made with the Lakers. He has been toiling away with the lowly Sacramento Kings for the past few seasons and it appears as is if both the team and Gay are looking for a change.

Another trade rumors circulating which suggests the name of John Wall of Washington Wizards, Goran Dragic of Miami and Rudy Gay of Sacramento King in a 3-team, 6-player trade deal. This team has used Kris Dunn, the No. 5 draft pick as point guard resulting in rumors involving Rubio.

Rubio Is Asking To Be Traded? If they do get Ricky Rubio, the Sacramento Kings would have a starting point guard that they could on in the future. Under the proposed deal, the Minnesota Timberwolves would receive Luol Deng from the Los Angeles Lakers. This particular scenario would have Darren Collison from the Kings and Luol Deng from the Lakers heading to Minnesota, #Ricky Rubio heading to Sacramento, and Rudy Gay to the Lakers. Once Deng becomes trade-eligible on December 15, this would be a legal transaction per NBA trade and salary cap constraints, as confirmed by the ESPN NBA Trade Machine. Ever the since the Los Angeles Lakers signed Luol Deng to a 4 year, $72 million contract in the offseason, the former NBA All-Star has been a disappointment for the Los Angeles Lakers. Rudy Gay would be a very good alternative to Deng, and Gay is in the final year of his contract, although he does have a player option for 2017-18. But the Sacramento Kings are considering to trade Rudy and get an asset rather than to lose him as a free agent with nothing in return HNGN has reported.

On the other hand, Heat will have an additional offensive player by having Rudy Gay in their team. Arron Afflalo can also play small forward, so the team would be able to cover that spot pretty well in the event Rudy Gay is shipped out. For sure if the trade rumors pursue it would be great for the respective teams.

As the trade deadline continues to get closer, a lot of National Basketball Association stars are being tossed around in potential deals.

Luol Deng has already been mentioned in previous trade rumors to be headed to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Zach LaVine and Shabbaz Muhammad.
