If President-elect Donald Trump doesn't deliver on his central campaign promises, "there will be pitchforks and torches in the streets", Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) warned Sunday. And my focus is on the country.

"I'm not going to re-litigate the past", Cruz said about comments he made about Trump.

"So I'm encouraged by the team that is coming together, by where there focus is".

Ted Cruz had a lot to say on ABC this morning about Fidel Castro's death and President Obama's reaction to it, but Martha Raddatz also asked him about the incoming administration. "I'm going to focus on what's in front of us".

Even after losing the Republican nomination to Mr Trump, Cruz continued to be a vocal opponent of Mr Trump until the final months of the presidential race.

A few weeks later, he shifted gears and endorsed Trump, resulting in melancholy pictures like this one making the rounds on social media.

If they don't, he added, there will be "pitchforks and torches" in the streets. Unlike some of his more eager Republican allies, Cruz has not rushed to Trump's side in his victory, and there have been no rumors about Cruz's potential role in a Trump administration.

Although Cruz campaigned aggressively against Trump during the primaries, he's appeared to make amends with Trump, saying that he plans to work with Trump and other members of Congress "to deliver on what we promised".

Raddatz interrupted: "I just go back to those words, 'He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth.' Do you still think Donald Trump is a liar?" "That's a question for the president-elect to decide".
