The two strongest competitors made it to the end of season 23 on "Dancing With the Stars".

Eventually, with just the two dancers left, it was announced that Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy were this season's Mirrorball winners, which wasn't too surprising since Hernandez had been the frontrunner nearly the entire season. Hinchcliffe and Kramer had their performance issues while Calvin Johnson Jr. couldn't lift partner Lindsay Arnold properly or as they were supposed to.

Tuesday night's finale kicked off with an opening number performed by all 13 of this season's couples, followed by special performances by Andy Grammer, Vanilla Ice, and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.

And for racing fans, seeing the way he was able to turn his near-fatal crash previous year into some memorable performances was also plenty moving.

The votes from November 21 were combined along with the judges' points from the "24-Hour Fusion Challenge" to determine the victor.

James and Sharna's romantic Viennese waltz/foxtrot got lots of love from the judges and straight 10s.

It remains to be seen if the much-awaited Microsoft handset will live up to expectations and be a game changer for the company. The prototype devices cannot run X86 apps on their own, but once connected to a display using Continuum, they can run the apps.

She's been invited to be in this year's Macy's Day Parade, which she said is just "insane". The judges cited her ability to learn as a performer beyond her dancing skills throughout the nearly three-month-long competition, in which she was the youngest competitor. Carrie Ann thought their routine was wonderful as usual. Laurie, of course, had a little more spunkiness in her (I would too if I were still barely a teenager), but when it came to scoring, all three dancers, and their professional partners received similar amounts of flawless scores and judge praise.

Calvin & Lindsay: 10-10-10-10 from the judges for an ideal 40. Julianne thought it was the ideal fusion dance with so much content.

"Honestly, I feel like they tie for each other", she said. The duo also got four flawless 10s from the judges. In fact, the duo advanced all the way to the season finale on Tuesday night, which guaranteed them at least a 3rd place finish.

Hernandez was at the top and best performer throughout the season.

As for where she wants to put her shiny new trophy? Julianne thought the dance was ideal, from content to kicks to flicks and said no amount of rhinestones could shine as bright as he does.
