Hezbollah has been deployed, and is now backed by, Iran.

She added that there was "no information on them [the images]", but the U.S. would be "gravely concerned if equipment ended up in the hands of Hezbollah".

Defense analysts: M113's were either were stolen from the Lebanese military or given up voluntarily. It has been used in every major USA military conflict since the Vietnam War.

U.S. Department of State and Lebanese military deny analysts claims. Hezbollah may also have taken them from the al-Qaida-linked Jabhat al-Nusra, which also obtained them from a source not yet identified by USA officials.

The State Department spokeswoman also noted that "the Lebanese military has publicly stated that the M113s depicted online in the Hezbollah military parade were never part of their equipment roster". "We are working closely with our colleagues in the Pentagon and in the Intelligence Community on to resolve this issue".

The latest propaganda video was shot in Syria, where Hezbollah is forward deployed at the behest of its Iranian masters. Hezbollah also remains a powerful political entity in Lebanon, where it is entrenched in the government.

Lebanon received about $221 million worth of military aid from the U.S.in 2016, with a $50 million summer shipment of artillery, grenade launchers and 1,000 tons of ammunition.

Charles Shoebridge, a security analyst and former counter-terrorism intelligence officer in the United Kingdom, said the Lebanese Army was the most likely source of the US arms. They depict the armored personnel carrier known as the M113 used frequently by the USA military to carry troops and artillery, triggering confusion about whether the weapons had links to the US government, the Washington Post reported Wednesday. The U.S. aid is provided to help Lebanon combat the growing threat of violent extremists from Syria.

Asked whether it would be a violation of US law if it turned out the armoured vehicles were US made, US State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said: "Obviously, we would be gravely concerned if equipment ended up in the hands of Hezbollah".
