Tottenham secured what could be a precious Champions League point away at Bayer Leverkusen, thanks in no small part to the heroics of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Belgian is unlikely to return in time for Saturday's game away at Bournemouth but next weekend's match against reigning Premier League champions Leicester is a realistic possibility.

"It's hard for the weekend because it's still painful for him but it's important that the scan was all clear", he said, via the club's website.

We need to be positive - it is in our hands to go through to the next round. "It will be hard for the weekend".

Asked about the possibility of Kane and Alderweireld featuring in the Premier League match at Dean Court, Pochettino said: "It's impossible [for Harry] - one thing is to run on the grass, another thing is to train with the group, be fit and available to compete".

Son Heung-Min, September s Premier League s Player of the Month, started on the left wing against his former club, while England s Danny Rose returned at left back.

The Frenchman made some smart saves throughout the encounter to keep Tottenham in the game in Germany, but his most talked about save was from Hernandez's 48th minute strike.

Monaco came from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw at CSKA Moscow and tops Group E with five points. They are one of the best centre-back pairs in the European game.

The second half, however, breathed new life into Leverkusen and Tottenham were twice fortunate not to fall behind.

"While it is too strong to say it was a wake-up call, I think it made us all aware that we can be beaten".

Bayer Leverkusen duo Admir Mehmedi and Lars Bender have expressed their frustration at being unable to beat Tottenham Hotspur.

Vincent Janssen headed against the crossbar here while Dele Alli and Erik Lamela both spurned chances to score but Pochettino was satisfied with a point.

"I think we missed good chances in the first half, and at this level if you don't score, its hard to win games".

Spurs missed a host of chances in a dominant first half, and Lloris added: "At the end of the game we can be pleased with the point".

"We will try to qualify as soon as we can and win every game", he said.
