Barcelona are fourth in La Liga and cruised to a 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, with substitute Lionel Messi scoring on his return from a groin injury that had kept him out for over three weeks. In one of the most entertaining games of that season, Pep's Bayern who played a 3 man defence nearly conceded thrice in the first 30 minutes before Guardiola realised that his defence wasn't able to shut out MSN.

In a few years, this game might just be a footnote in the story of how Pep Guardiola transformed Manchester City into the greatest team in the world.

"Ever since the draw was made Pep Guardiola's homecoming has been the standout attraction of the Champions League group stage but City supporters must be wondering which of his sides is going to turn up", says Paul Wilson of The Guardian. The Argentina forward is second only to Cristiano Ronaldo's 98.

While Napoli has a ideal six points and Besiktas two, Dynamo and Benfica have only one each.

Everton's defence played an absolute blinder simply to get a point against City, who interestingly also lined up with 3 at the back for this one.

Sergio Aguero has been benched for City's trip to Barcelona.

As managers go, there is no one more revered in the modern game than former Barcelona and Bayern Munich and current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

"You need a ideal game to beat Barcelona, that is the key".

In the other group match, Celtic hosts Borussia Moenchengladbach to try to improve on its four-game unbeaten run at home in Europe. Now, the feeling is that players may be losing their drive and determination under Ancelotti. Man City missed two penalties in the match, continuing a worrying trend for them this season of simply not being able to convert from the spot. The media quickly suggested that some of Guardiola's discipline might be in order.

City defender Pablo Zabaleta spoke to the press ahead of Wednesday's massive UEFA Champions League match at Camp Nou, and the Argentinean was very respectful of Barça, and knows how tough the game will be.
