In a political season that seems sometimes as if it will never end, today is an important day - it's the beginning of the end.

If they aren't yet registered to vote, a voter registration application will be provided with their ballot. If you can not find your record or if it is incorrect, you will need to complete a new registration form and send it in to have your record updated. Voters will need identification of name and address in order to vote.

Early voters like Marc Paulsen said they come to the polls early to get-in and get-out to avoid the election day rush.

Pierce said there is a box on the website that voters can open and fill out a Voter Registration Form online.

How many states have early voting?

What types of early voting are there?

Debatable because those absentee voters already know how they're going to cast their votes. All of the instructions are included with the ballot and must be followed carefully.

The election to choose the next president of the United States is a little more than six weeks away.

Some voters must show photo ID, while others do not. You can find out when your absentee ballot was mailed and if your completed ballot was received and accepted by the local elections office.

This depends largely on where you live. But unlike on Election Day, the ballots won't be fed into a counter.

Yes, in some states.
