The soccer player has been outspoken about the Zika virus, telling CNBC in May that she made a decision to "begrudgingly" participate in this year's summer games in Rio de Janeiro, but added that athletes shouldn't have to choose between the Olympics and their health. Spectators loudly shouted "Zi-ka!" as she cut loose the last several of her goal kicks.

Solo, after realizing her posts were receiving backlash apologized in a recent statement saying "I never would want to offend the host country".

As the New York Daily News reports, the chants were loud with related jeers of "Zika!".

The team would go on to record the win in their first game, 2-0.

In January 2015, however, Solo was suspended from the U.S. Women's National Team for 30 days when Solo's husband, Jerramy Stevens, was charged with allegedly driving under the influence just outside of a Women's National Team training camp. Well, it has to do with Hope Solo's Instagram and Hope Solo's Twitter posts, not to mention her remarks regarding the Zika virus.

Powerball jackpot $422 million after months without winner
With politic's dominating the news cycle this week, it's easy to forget the public has a shot at this huge Powerball jackpot. The jackpot, which was set for $422 million on Wednesday, grew for more than two months to reach that amount.

About a year ago, Solo won her second straight Golden Glove Award for the best goalkeeper at the Women's World Cup, which the United States won.

Hope and the rest of the American ladies return to action on Saturday, when they take on France on Saturday (4 PM EST, NBCSN). Following a three-month absence due to wrist surgery in 2013, Solo didn't give up a goal in her first four games back. So, still the question remains: why is hope solo being booed? The U.S. continues it's dominance in soccer through the women's team while the men's team struggles. There is always so much more to the story of a truly complex figure. [.] I heard that there were some negative responses here in Brazil. I just keep looking for the next feather in my cap, so to speak.

Djokovic, seeking to complete a Golden Slam of all four majors and Olympic gold, took revenge for his shattering loss at the London Games with a titanic five-set win in the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2013.

Two years later, Solo was arrested and charged with assault against her half-sister and nephew.

Then again, there are a lot of those games.
